Clothing & Fabrics
Kuta offers the whole range of clothing prices and styles, from gaudy T-shirts to exclusive designers labels. Always check the quality of costly items to ensure you don't get export remnants. Counterfeit branded goods are abundant. In small shops, bargain hard. The established manufacturers generally have more than one outlet in Kuta and Legian. In designer outlets, don't expect more than a 10% discount. Items with price tags are not always exempt from bargaining. Bear in mind that it would undoubtedly be less expensive and perhaps more satisfying to simply have your clothing made.

Ask around for a good tailor or seamstress. A good tailor will copy a favorite, perfect-fitting garment. They can make almost anything to order for both men and women – from suits to shoes, from bathing suits to neckties. Tailors often have a large stock of different fabrics and leather to choose from and offer speedy service.

Children & Teens
Colorful children's wear is popular throughout Kuta. Quality fabrics and trendy styling means that when you get back home, the gear will hold up. Stock up on basic playwear such as jeans and T-shirts at a quarter of the prices in the US.

Furniture, Antiques, Reproductions
You'll find a plethora of “antique” stores in southern Bali. Be wary: many objects aren't genuine and are cleverly aged and reproduced. Most authentic pieces were bought up years ago, but it's still possible to buy the genuine article between 25 and 40 years old from Bali, Java, Kalimantan and Nusa Tenggara.

Jewelry
Most large hotels have upmarket jewelry shops. Attractive accessories such as bracelets, earrings and brooches can be found in many of these shops.

Surfwear & Sporting Goods
Surfwear has always been the rage of the foreign and local youth culture of southern Bali. There's said to be over 800 surf shops, of one kind or the other, in south Bali, selling the latest boardies, bikinis, skirts and tops of the surfing world.

Money
Automated Teller Machines. ATMs are abundant and found at banks, Matahari Dept. Store on Jl. Legian, and in Kuta Square to name just a few. Most accept bank cards linked to the Cirrus, Visa and Mastercard international networks. Money Changers. Kuta has a great number of money changers. Most money changers are open daily, most until late at night. Rates differ, so shop around. One honest money changer is located on the east side of Bemo Corner. Only do business with moneychangers who do not ask for a commission, otherwise you're just asking for it. Check the money changers calculations yourself with your own calculator, and count your money.

Watersports
Surfing. Kuta and Legian have long been surfing areas. The 6 km beach break stretching from Kuta to Petitenget has a range of waves. Speak to the experts at Kuta's surf shops: Jungle Surf, Rip Curl, Quicksilver. The owners are all avid surfers and provide up-to-the-minute surfing reports and tide charts which are essential for negotiating the tricky currents. Swimming. The currents at Kuta are extremely strong and the undertow can be very treacherous. Swimming is at your own risk. There are markers to indicate safe distance fromcurrents at Kuta are extremely strong and the undertow can be very treacherous. Swimming is at your own risk. Kartika Plaza, Tuban, is more than just an amusement park with its variety of pools, “rides”, and slides in a beautifully landscaped environment.
